Over the summer, Xerox launched a revolutionary new Digital Press – the Iridesse Production Press, which has taken the print industry by storm!

The Iridesse is the first digital press that combines four-colour printing (CMYK) with up to two specialty dry inks in one printing pass – which can include metallic gold or silver as well as clear dry ink. It comes standard with Color FLX Technology, so you can achieve flexible mixed specialty effects.

It is the first xerographic digital press outfitted to print six colours in a single pass. It also uses a new formulation of High Definition Emulsion Aggregate (HD EA) toner that achieves the smallest particle size yet for Xerox colour toners to deliver even finer image control for ensuring that tints, gradients, fine text, and lines print as intended.

The new digital press opens up new production-level application opportunities and immediately gives those printing a competitive edge.

Designers now have the capability to produce impressive digital printing, allowing design possibilities that were not previously possible due to time and budget constraints. For marketers, it can create highly embellished, personalised printing for multi-channel campaigns, and for commercial and in-plant printers, this new press increases volume and profitability by introducing more diverse, higher-value jobs.

It’s now so much easier to produce outstanding packaging, brochures, business cards, greeting cards, signage, book covers, and mailshots, and because it’s all automated – including the calibration, profiling, and alignment – it reduces the human cost, even the quality control, paper handling, and in-line finishing are taken care of.
