The New Year has started, the festivities have finally finished, and everyone is back from their winter break.  As work pressure and demands start to build up again, now is the time to make sure your business and team are in the best position possible for a strong 2019.

Take a look at our checklist below to make sure you have covered all bases while you still have the headspace!

Improve your office space for the New Year

Add some plants and some nice artwork; think about having your branding refreshed and visible. Invest in decent office supplies, and maybe some new office equipment – a new printer, a new multi-function device, office furniture, or stationary can really help to brighten things up.

Clean your existing equipment

When was the last time you cleaned your printer, MFD, or phones properly, beyond simple desktop dust? Look online for instructions on how to properly clean the equipment your office relies on, and think about getting a deep clean of the office space itself too.

Be equipped

Get organised now, check your office supplies and make sure you have a well-stocked cupboard of paper, ink, toner, and stationery.

Get updated

Check your machines for any firmware updates or new drivers. If you have a Xerox machine, these can be found on the Drivers and Downloads page.

Thank your team

If you didn’t get a chance over the festive season, take the time now as the year starts to thank your colleagues and clients for their support – acknowledge their value and show your appreciation,

Move to the cloud

Get your files in order and stay organised with cloud-based storage such as BlackBerry Workspaces, OneDrive, Google Docs, or even Dropbox for your personal files, and make sure your teams all use the same system.

Automate your workflows

Invest in a web-capture solution to streamline the scanning-to-web process. Develop automated workflows to scan, route, and store data only in the pre-approved folders and cloud storage systems that you choose.

Review your digital security

With cybercrime becoming so prevalent, review your organisation’s security. Create a cyber security policy and train your team on it. Use password management software and back up data securely in the cloud. Review the security levels of your network-connected printers and the accessibility of important documentation.
